Sunflower Bank, N.A. is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill the position of a full-time Assistant Treasurer at our Kansas City, MO location. 

Seeking an individual who pays close attention to specifics, meticulously examines all aspects of a task, and ensures that nothing is overlooked. Additionally effectively completing all work with a high level of accuracy and precision.

Summary  The Assistant Treasurer is responsible for working with the SVP, Treasurer to assist in the management of all aspects of Corporate Treasury, including management of the bank’s investment portfolio, balance sheet management, pricing and financial risk management, interest rate risk, and internal and external relationships. In addition, this position will assist in preparing and presenting monthly to the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO).

Responsibilities 

Management of the bank’s investment portfolio; purchase and sales; monthly analytics and monitoring as well as maintaining all records. Review of month-end reconciliations to ensure accuracy.Work with the Treasurer on all aspects of Balance Sheet Management. Assist in the management of liquidity management to ensure adequate liquidity for operational and regulatory requirements as well as modeling to evaluate liquidity and funding strategies.Assist with managing the Bank’s derivatives portfolio including back- to-back swap programs and Mortgage Service Rights hedge program.Develop and prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly Treasury reports for senior management.Assist in the perpetration and presentation of the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO).Create and maintain various reports relating to Macroeconomic Trends.Act as a liaison to other departments regarding treasury aspects and projects.Responsible for updating all relevant treasury policies and procedures and ensuring full compliance.Assist and prepare daily cash flow monitoring as well as monitoring of collateral.Perform the job in accordance with applicable industry laws and regulations as well as the policies and procedures established by the company.Responsible for upholding Fair and Responsible Banking practices and Code of Ethics and Conduct guidelines.Understand and participate in the Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act program.Perform other duties as assigned. 

Education / Experience Required

 5+ years of relevant experienceBachelor’s degree in economics, Finance, Accounting, or quantitative disciplineAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Experience with Oracle Financial Software. Financial Analysis skills, good verbal and written communication skills, including presentation of financial analysis.Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and a self-starter able to work independently.Ability to cultivate and work in a team environment.Quantitatively oriented with strong intuition, organized with a very strong focus on attention to detail.MBA or advanced degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or other quantitative discipline.Asset Liability experience preferred.
