Assistant Underwriter

• Assisting in the maintenance of property underwriting data and reports; 

• Assisting in the property underwriting process including the review of submissions and engineering information, and attendance at underwriting meetings; 

• Liaising with brokers with regard to the facilitation of the property underwriting process; 

• Preparing property quotes, binders and policy documentation in consultation with the underwriting team; 

• Liaising with the appropriate internal departments for the purpose of ensuring the accuracy and maintaining the consistency of property underwriting and accounting information; 

• Assisting with recovery of premium receivables; 

• Assisting with special projects as assigned by the VP Property

Accredited college or university degreeProgress towards or intention to progress in completing a professional insurance designation (e.g. CPCU, ACII)Strong written and oral communications skillsStrong analytical, problem solving and critical-thinking skillsAbility to prioritize multiple tasks in an efficient and results-oriented mannerGood interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environmentProficient computer skills – Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Query Reporting, Visio, etc.
