Posting Number NONAC3472 Job Title Assistant Vice President, Student Financial Aid Position Title Assistant Vice President, Student Financial Aid Position Type Non-Faculty Number of vacancies 1 Salary Commensurate with experience Department Financial Aid Position Summary Under the supervision of the Senior Vice President of Finance and CFO, the Assistant Vice President of Student Financial Aid will lead the Office of Student Fiscal Affairs with the administration of federal, state, private, and Institutional financial aid.
The Assistant Vice President of Student Financial Aid directs the offices of Student Fiscal Affairs at Morehouse School of Medicine for all campuses and sites assisting students with obtaining financial resources to support their medical education studies at Morehouse School of Medicine. This role partners closely with colleagues within student affairs, student accounts and all areas interfacing with students, overseeing all aspects of financial aid for graduate/professional students. Responsible for assuring compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations and all effective and responsible business practices. This position also advises on federal and state issues to senior leadership and represents the school on the state and federal level, as needed. The Assistant Vice President of Student Financial Aid proactively employs best practices in financial aid leveraging and modeling to shape our graduate class and supports the enrollment and retention of graduate/professional students aligned to the school’s mission.

Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in a related field Proven leadership effectiveness and expertise in financial aid. Ten (10) years of progressively responsible and complex student financial aid and customer service-related experiences, utilizing an understanding of best practices nationally. Minimum of five (5) year’s experience as a senior level manager, preferably within an operation focused on strategic enrollment management, one-stop customer service model, and experience with graduate and professional programs and schools.
Preferred Qualifications FAAC (certified financial aid administrator). NASFAA (National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators). Willingness to embrace MSM’s mission and values. Proven capabilities of implementing strategies to lower student debt and/or increase enrollment

Supervise staff, which includes but is not limited to hiring, terming, disciplinary actions, performance management, staff development, etc. Provide on-going training and support to ensure staff development growth and increased knowledge of institutional, state, and federal guidelines. Coordinate streamlined interdepartmental processes that support student financial aid and financial wellness including but not limited to Registrar, Student Accounts, Admissions, Student Affairs, and all Professional and Graduate Programs. Work closely with leadership to establish effective financial aid policies, practices and communication strategies to help ensure recruitment, retention and net tuition revenue goals are met. Oversee the management of federal, state, private and institutional financial aid and scholarship funds. Work collaboratively with on and off campus partners, building strong, transparent relationships and representing the Office of Student Fiscal Affairs at state, regional, and national conferences and policy meetings. Act as a leading campus advocate for the value and importance of financial aid. Proactively use technology to improve processes and office efficiency. Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations and university policies and procedures, including the A-133 annual financial aid audit. Oversee reporting to internal and external constituencies (FISAP, IPEDS, etc.). Manage departmental operating budget to ensure cost effective measures are taken and expenditures are within established limitations.

Immunization Immunization Requirements It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment.
