Inviting applications for the role of Assistant Vice President - Cloud Delivery / Advisory Leader

As a Cloud Delivery/Advisory Leader, you will lead and oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of cloud projects within our organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless migration to cloud environments, day-day operational excellence, aiming to optimize performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities

Project Planning: Develop high-level project plans for cloud projects, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with technical teams, stakeholders, and external vendors to coordinate efforts and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Cloud Strategy:

Contribute to the development of a cloud evolving strategy that aligns with the organization's goals, considering factors such as workload suitability, security, and cost. This would include DevOps and Automation.   

Develop and Maintain AWS Cloud Services in accordance with Security and Standards.

Present the solution definition documentation to Architecture review council.

Design architecture for high availability and security-first approach

Design architecture for sizing / scalability and performance.

Remediate any availability, regulatory or performance-related operational deficiencies.

Advise client of changes to and adoptions of new cloud technology

Remain current in the knowledge and use of cloud technology, virtualization, compute, storage and management products.

Resource Management: Manage project resources, including teams, budgets, and third-party vendors, to ensure the successful execution of different projects.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with cloud engineering projects and develop mitigation plans to address them.

Technical Oversight: Provide technical oversight and guidance during migration activities and new development / initiatives ensuring compatibility, security, and performance of cloud environments.

Performance Monitoring: Implement monitoring and reporting mechanisms to track the progress of various projects and address any issues promptly.

Quality Assurance: Establish quality assurance processes to validate the successful completion of migrations and the attainment of performance objectives.

Cost Management: Monitor and optimize cloud costs, ensuring that migrations deliver cost-effective solutions aligned with budgetary constraints.

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of migration processes, configurations, and best practices for future reference. 

Qualifications we seek in you

Minimum Qualifications/Skills

Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems.

Cloud Certifications - Preferred

Agile/Scrum (CSM) Certification – preferred

Project management training and/or PMP/PRINCE2 certification – preferred

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

Good experience in cloud project management, with a focus on cloud operations and projects.

Cloud Expertise: Strong knowledge of major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and cloud migration methodologies. Devops and Automation.

Project Management Skills: Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.

Technical Background: Familiarity with cloud technologies, infrastructure, and networking concepts. Hands-on experience in one of the cloud technologies

Skills: Knowledge of AWS products and services: EKS, S3, SQS, SNS, Cloud Watch, Elastic Cache, Kinesis, Cloud Trail, KMS, WAF, Guard Duty, IAM, Lambda, Connect, RDS

Knowledge of Azure products and services: Azure AD, VM, BLOB, Key Vault, Log Analytics, Monitor, Azure Databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL), Key Vault, Security Center, Activity log

Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address migration challenges effectively.

Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams toward successful cloud operations and engineering projects.

The approximate annual base compensation range for this position is [$100,000 to $125,000]. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package plus benefits, will be determined by a number of factors which include but are not limited to the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities; geographic location; and internal equity.
