Posting Details Job Title Assistant Vice President for Campus Life Services Department ASST VP FOR UNIV AUX SERV Position Number GA012A Location Norfolk, VA Job Summary This position provides oversight, management, and supervision of Campus Life Services within the division of Student Enrollment, Engagement & Services ( SEES ) for Old Dominion University. Areas of responsibility include the following auxiliary units: Housing and Residence Life, Monarch Dining, Chartway Arena/Ted Constant Convocation Center, and University Village Bookstore (including Webb Student Center and the Macon and Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences Center locations). Additionally, the position supervises central Campus Life Services staff that assist in daily operations and inventory management as well as scheduling and event services. The AVP serves as a divisional leader on the Vice President’s Cabinet and Leadership Council. Position Type FullTime Type of Recruitment General Public Minimum Qualifications + Master’s degree in business, finance, student affairs or related field + Extensive knowledge of best practices related to providing effective, responsive, and fiscally sound campus-based auxiliary services to a university community. + Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a broad constituency including students, University staff at all levels, and state/federal officials. + Extensive experience with auxiliary budget management; preferred experience with third party vendor management. + Considerable management experience in higher education administration (or relatable field), preferably in auxiliary services management. + Considerable experience with assessing market demand of varied constituencies and planning new services and/or modifying existing services to meet these needs. + Considerable experience with auxiliary budget management; preferred experience with third party vendor management. + Some experience with capital planning. Preferred Qualifications Preferred candidate would have experience in a Higher Education environment, specifically Auxiliary Services.
