Assistant Vice President of Transitional Hous
Win Assistant Vice President, Transitional Housing Title of Position: Assistant Vice President of Transitional Housing FLSA Status: Exempt Department: Transitional Housing Reports to: Vice President of Transitional Housing Salary: Up to $125.000.00/year Positions reporting to this position: Program Directors Purpose of the Position The Assistant Vice President (“AVP”) of Transitional Housing provides effective leadership and management to Win shelters to ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and contractual requirements, in addition to Win’s standards of performance. The AVP ensures that Department of Homeless Services (DHS) funded programs support Win’s mission and strategic plan and achieves its strategic goals. The AVP reports directly to the Vice President of Transitional Housing. Responsibilities: Leadership + Provide training and support to direct reports, including ongoing coaching. + Ensure adherence to Win’s Code of Conduct and organizational policies. + Collaborate with Human Capital in addressing staff performance and recruitment issues. + Provide ongoing performance feedback and reviews in accordance with Win policies. Strategic Planning + Support Program Directors in developing strategies to ensure adherence to Win’s philosophy in the delivery of services. + Ensure the work of the transitional housing programs and support the organization’s mission and strategic plan. + Participate in the development of the vision and direction of current/future Win programs. + Partner with your team to establish SMART goals, objectives and key results for the division. + Perform other related duties as assigned. Program Management + Ensure Program Directors are operating programs which meet regulatory and contractual obligations. + Travel to various transitional housing sites to provide direct supervision. + Promote collaboration among departments through the development of interdisciplinary teams to achieve organizational goals. + Acts as principal liaison with DHS and the Office of Temporary Disability Assistance (OTDA). + Consult with the Vice President of Transitional Housing regarding contractual and regulatory issues. + Represent Win at internal and external meetings as needed. Financial Management + Engage Program Directors in forecasting activities and recommending budget priorities during the budget development process. + Ensure program services expenditures do not exceed budget. + Monitor billing reports and collaborate with the Contracts Department to ensure Program Directors are responding accurately and on time to billing inquiries and billing corrections. + Strategize and work with Program Directors to reduce or eliminate transitional housing discrepancies. + Serve as liaison between the Win Executive Office, DHS and program services. + Ensure transitional housing programs maintain utilization thresholds as required by funding agency. Performance Management + Monitor reports and dashboards to ensure that programs are meeting targets. + Assist the Program Directors to develop strategies, annual goals and targets which ensure each Program reaches its targets and goals. + Evaluate Program Directors’ performance in meeting goals and targets. + Ensure Directors implement continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities. + Lead or participate in CQI committees and projects. Essential Functions: + Must be able to sit at a computer for the majority of the work day. + Must be able to travel to various Win sites across New York City. Qualifications: + Commitment to Win’s mission, vision, and values. + MSW/MA/MS required. + Eight (8) years of experience in senior management. + Experience in nonprofit setting with focus a homeless and low-income populations. + Experience with performance-based contracting and metrics. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office. + Bilingual – English/Spanish a plus.
