East Stroudsburg University is hiring an Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESU’s proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provides convenient access to internships, careers and social activities. Just minutes from campus are the country’s largest water parks, scenic Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Appalachian Trail, and other opportunities for recreational fun.
As the Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach, you will need to think creatively and be comfortable supporting the implementation of the ESU Volleyball program. You will be an active member of the Athletics team and will work closely with the Head Coach to provide instruction and feedback to student athletes. You will thrive in this role if you like combining your volleyball coaching experience and excellent communication skills all while using your comprehensive understanding of the modern sport recruitment life cycle to actively recruit new student athletes. To be successful in this position, the person must be deadline driven, have passion for volleyball, and have experience in intercollegiate sports.
You may have to flex your schedule from time to time based on the needs of the business to be a true Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach. The position is part-time (0.5 FTE) role, with a varying schedule during the year. This position requires up to 50% travel to games. When our team shows up for work, they are energized and motivated to succeed all while being the most crucial piece to keeping the ESU operations humming.
What Will I Do At ESU? (AKA Essential Duties)
In charge of successfully completing the NCAA Division II University education modules prior to August 1 of each year. Responsibility for assisting the Head Volleyball Coach in the execution and completion of the necessary forms and other related administrative work involved in the sport. Self-reporting NCAA violations to the Head Volleyball Coach, Director of Athletics, and Associate AD for Compliance when the coach has actual knowledge of a violation. Responsibility for treating the academic achievement and requirements necessary for progress toward a degree as a matter of the highest priority for the student-athlete. Assisting the Head Volleyball Coach in recruiting qualified student-athletes to attend East Stroudsburg University in accordance with NCAA, PSAC, and University policies and procedures. Supporting the Head Volleyball Coach with practice planning and implementation as well as game preparation and in-game coaching. Abiding by the Code of Conduct for Coaches found in the ESU Athletics Policy and Procedures Manual.
What We're Looking For (AKA Qualifications)
A Bachelor’s Degree is required, Master’s Degree is preferred. Thorough knowledge of and commitment to compliance with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the NCAA, PSAC, and other applicable affiliations is required. Successful experience in coaching volleyball is required; successful volleyball coaching experience on the collegiate level is preferred. An equivalent combination of experience and training that may include successful professional, high school, or club coaching experience. Able to read, write, and comprehend English; able to follow verbal instructions. Experience with Word, Excel, Teams required.
