Assistant Warehouse Manager
Position Summary:

The Assistant Manager, Warehouse Facility II works alongside the Manager or Sr. Manager, Warehouse Facility II to oversee the day-to-day operations of a high volume, high revenue and/or high complexity warehouse facility providing reverse logistics services to a diverse customer base and is responsible for all personnel functions related to direct reports.

Primary Accountabilities:

(70%) Operational Management

○Assist with the overall operation, planning, and profitability of assigned warehouse

Partner with multiple functions/departments, including production/manufacturing, maintenance, quality assurance/control, document control, shipping/receiving, engineering, and environmental health and safety

Monitor facility safety and security to provide the most secure environment for employees

May work with industrial engineers to optimize the use of space in the facility, accounting for various process requirements of clients

Work with production departments to develop manufacturing and production plans, schedules, and targets

May work with leadership to develop strategy for warehouse operations, including budget development,capital investments, and cost reduction strategies

Assist with establishing all shift production schedules; ensure appropriate resources (personnel, materials, and equipment) are available to meet daily production and customer requirements

Contribute to planning and development of new processes for newly acquired clients

Work with recruiting department to maintain a steady pipeline of candidates for returns processing, and inventory management

Assist with adjustments to forecasts based on peak seasons, onboarding of new clients, and align staffing accordingly

(20%) Influence

Participate with vendor selection and approve vendor contracts and maintain relationship management for external vendors

Help establish standards for evaluating requirements for vendor products and services

Maintain vendor relationships, working to reduce costs and improve productivity

Assist with negotiation of contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLA), optimizing the value in services to from vendors

May perform client presentations/warehouse tours and communicates with clients and other business partners

Partner with internal stakeholders such as, compliance, risk, legal, and supply chain in establishing contractual agreements

Drive innovation through the development of best practices, operational and service efficiency as well as the identification of industry trends and tools that would contribute to our operational excellence goals

(10%) Leadership

Provide leadership, coaching, counseling, and career development opportunities to staff

Manage the activities of supervisors and/or individual contributors who are direct reports

Responsible for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews

Additional Responsibilities:

Performs other duties as assigned

Complies with all policies and standards

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Finance or related field required 4-6 years 2-4 years of experience work experience in a warehouse distribution environment including a minimum of 3 years managerial/supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required

Experience running a forward or reverse logistics operations required e-Commerce experience preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the major responsibilities/essential functions of the position

Holistic understanding of supply chain management

Proven ability to lead a team and create a positive culture

Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are advantageous in the role

Strong analytical skills; proven ability to prepare a budget

Working knowledge of computers and programs specific to operations and operations reporting including MS Office (Excel, MS Word)

Knowledge of warehouse safety and security practices

Ability to assist with operations within the warehouse, as needed and if applicable

Ability to work under time pressure and meet production goals

Ability to meet set production and quality goals and follow standard operating and safety procedure

Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment

Six Sigma certification or ability to achieve certification required
