Overall Job Summary

This position is responsible for creating and supporting software running on various platforms used in Tractor Supply stores.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%) Develop and/or configure, build, review, and unit test software/solutions.  Assist in QA efforts on tasks worked by providing input for test cases and supporting test case execution. Provide 24x7 rotational technical support to solve business problems and document resolution.  Implement design patterns, especially model-view-controller, inversion of control, and dependency injection.
  Required Qualifications

Experience: 0- 2 years’ experience in computer science or related field. Experience with Java and JEE development, one of the Java application servers (WebSphere, JBoss, WebLogic, etc.), relational database concepts, E-Commerce development, multi-layer web applications for business, and/or web service technologies (REST, JSON, SOAP, HTTP, SSL, XML/XSLT, etc.) is preferred. 

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science or software engineering from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience. 
 

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodology. Basic knowledge of programming languages.  Basic knowledge of relational databases.  Basic knowledge of object-oriented programming is preferred.  Basic knowledge of Java web technologies such as Servlets, JavaBeans, JSTL, and JSP is preferred. Basic knowledge of web and application servers such as JBoss, Tomcat and Apache httpd is preferred.  Basic knowledge of XML technologies: XML, Schemas, SAX, DOM, XSLT, XQuery, XMLBeans, JDOM, XHTML, AJAX, is preferred.  Basic knowledge of presentation layer technologies such as JSON, JavaScript, HTML, JSF, JQuery is preferred.  Basic knowledge of Continuous Integration concept and tools is preferred.  Basic knowledge of automated testing tools such as JMeter and Grinder is preferred.  Basic knowledge of standard Java debugging tools such as VisualVM, jmap, jstack, etc. is preferred.  Basic knowledge of version control systems such as subversion and Git is preferred.  Basic knowledge of wired and wireless store hardware devices (e.g. registers, receipt printers, pin pads, scanners, RF guns) and C-based drivers that work with tehm is preferred.  Basic knowledge of portal technologies (particularly Liferay and Oracle) is preferred.  Basic knowledge of Unix like operating systems (particularly Linux) is preferred.  Basic knowledge of development tools such as Ant, Maven, Eclipse, and Junit is preferred
