Summary: Provide engineering support to Field Operations for field rotating equipment and auxiliary systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Support Division and Field Operations with mechanical and electrical problems & issues, troubleshoot, develop alternatives, perform forensic analysis, and propose & implement solutions for long-term equipment reliability.
· Facilitate the development of standards to support the operation & maintenance activities of field rotating equipment and auxiliary systems.
· Facilitate the development of Best Practice documents.
· Technology development, assessment and deployment including influence within industry R&D consortiums to improve performance and efficiency of the maintenance and operations function.
· Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) that are used to measure or compare equipment performance.
· Lead or participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations to determine the root cause of failures or incidents with equipment.
· Assist engineering with the development of reliability project work scopes, cost estimates, schedules, material specs, and other required documentation.
· Answer technical inquiries, make technical recommendations, improve design tools, & develop design procedures, and provide training.
· Assist Engineering or Operations in the execution of capital projects related to rotating equipment.
· Provide support for the Equipment Reliability (ER) program, including the tracking of unit hours and blowdowns.
· Manage relationship with key vendors, to include facilitating high level commercial and technical discussions related to operating equipment.
Requirements: Education and/or experience, knowledge, skills & abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
· Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
· 0-3 years of industry experience in supporting the reliability of rotating equipment.
· Knowledge of engineering fundamentals related to motor, gas turbine and reciprocating engine operating principles.
· Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office.
· Knowledge of induction/synchronous motor fundamentals and associated protection and control schemes.
· Read, understand & develop drawings including one-lines, P&IDs, flow diagrams, schematics, state diagrams, cause and effect tables, and connection diagrams.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Capable of keeping clients updated and writing detailed technical reports. Communicate technical ideas to a wide range of groups.
· Strong team player (i.e. capable of building strong and productive working relationships with all stakeholders as well as fostering collaboration across operating units).
