About the role:
·The External Manufacturing (ExM) Strategic Alliances Platform team is seeking a highly motivated individual at Associate Director level to provide tactical and strategic management of Operations at External Manufacturing Partners in China.·The ExM Operations Associate Director, in partnership with the respective cross functional representatives, will be responsible for ensuring the reliable supply of finished goods from external manufacturing partners (EPs). The Operations Associate Director is the owner and primary point of contact for all interactions between the Manufacturing Supply organization and the assigned EPs, oversees the relationship with the contract manufacturer and establishes a strong business partnership, as well as boundaries and ground rules of engagement. ·This role will manage relationships that are highly complex in nature and of strategic importance.Qualifications:·Bachelors or higher degree in Pharmacy or equivalent scientific backgroundExperience:
·Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in Pharma Industry in commercial / business and manufacturing with more than one leadership roles in operations, project management, quality, technology, or supply chain. Type B relationship experience is a plus·Minimum 5 years working experiences in pharmaceutical production and quality management, and at least 3 years working experiences in sterile manufacturing and quality management.Primary Responsibilities:
• Leads the ExM cross-functional team assigned to each EP and ensures proper execution of the manufacturing and supply management process to achieve world class supplier performance ensuring that the production is organized in accordance with the approved process and GMP standards. ·Serves as the primary owner of company relationship with the EP and the point of contact for all interactions between the two parties·Is responsible for all operational related activities such as dispute resolution, balancing company delivery requirements with EP production plans, and effective oversight of shop floor production by the ExM cross-functional team·Works closely with the ExM team and EP to proactively assess and mitigate supply, quality and EHS risks and drive continuous improvement activities·Applies understanding of the end-to-end supply chain (i.e. design, plan, source, make and deliver), knowledge of cross-functional interdependencies within the company and an understanding of the interactions with internal sites to achieve operational excellence·Develops and executes programs and initiatives working together with EPs to drive mutually beneficial business results·Partners with Procurement and commercial team in the identification/selection of new contract manufacturers or licensees and negotiation/termination of supply agreements, as required ·Participates in cross-functional teams to execute siting/source changes/terminations of the contract manufacturers·Facilitates the collection of contract manufacturer’s capacity information (e.g. stated capacity, firm capacity, future capacity plans, time horizon / lead times required, comments/concerns, etc.), presents the information to relevant stakeholders and drives recommendations for capacity expansion at contract manufacturers, as required·Is responsible for ensuring contract terms agreed upon with the EP are executed in compliance with the Supply and Quality Agreements·Facilitates and participates in periodic Business and Relationship Review Meetings ·Ability to think strategically, identifying opportunities that add value to the work and proactively mitigate risk across the value chain·Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, project management, collaboration, negotiation and analytical skills ·Has demonstrated strong leadership in a teamwork environment and with strong team coordination abilities·Strong business and financial acumen; has skills to understand and intelligently apply economic, financial and industry data to make business decisions that drive value for our company and our customers·Ability to manage complex situations through rapid, disciplined decision making·Deep knowledge and expertise in manufacturing & packaging operations as well as end-to-end supply chain management to drive results and business outcomes·Deep understanding of GMP and EHS compliance requirements and knowledge of applicable regulations·Has proven lean manufacturing skills to deliver compliant supply and achieve highest quality, lowest cost and shortest lead-time·Ability to work in culturally diverse environments·Fluency in English (both written and oral)Secondary Job Description
