Shop Rebuilding and Repairs

Rebuilding of Oscillating Rollers, Colorheads, Gearboxes, Vacuums, and other parts and equipment.Receiving of incoming parts and material.Indication and repair of mandrels.All printing maintenance associates are expected to walk the floor at the beginning of their shift, stop at every scheduled machine. It is expected that all printing maintenance associates interact with production employees during the walk through, find out about machine issues and address the machine issues

Preventative Maintenance

Preform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual checks to the documented machines and equipment.Fill out work orders for repairs to be done on the machines and equipment.Help with the repairs when able.Any other tasks assigned to by the Printing Maintenance Supervisor and/or Leads. Qualifications

Qualifications:

Possess a basic mechanical and electrical aptitude.The employee must demonstrate the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.Trained, acknowledge, and follow all Berry Safety Absolutes.This role is a developmental role to become a Print Maintenance Tech to better support the Print Maintenance Department.

Communication Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports or correspondence.Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.Ability to interact with production personal in a respectful and positive manner.

Mathematical and Technology Skills:

Perform arithmetic. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.Understand and utilize decimals and fractions.Basic computer skills including email, Microsoft Word/ Excel, simple spreadsheets and use of electronic forms.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.Trade School, Technical, or Mechanical certificate is a plus.Mechanically inclined.Past experience in machine repair a plus.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

The employee is regularly required to stand, bend, stoop and walk for the majority of their shift.Able to climb up and down ladders.Be able to reach, feel and manipulate with hands and arms.Ability to safely lift at least 50 lbs. with assistance.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Must be able to work around grease, oils, inks and solvents without adverse reactions.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near machinery, powered industrial trucks, moving mechanical parts, and high spaces. Also may be exposed to fumes, high temperatures, airborne particles and loud noise.

Required personal protective equipment (PPE) for this position are:

Hearing protection.Eye protection: Eye glasses and face shield.Hard hat.LOTO tags and locks.Cut resistant gloves and sleeves.
