Charles Schwab Trust Bank (CSTB) provides trust, custody, trading, and technical services to retirement plan sponsors, advisors, and their agents. Cash Operations’ goal is to meet the needs of CSTB by providing superior client service as it relates to the processing of incoming and outgoing cash activity and all associated regulatory reporting. Specifically, the Distributions Team is responsible for the fulfillment of disbursements and distributions (including returned/rejected payments), facilitating and complying with OFAC requirements, completing special handling requests, processing incoming mail, and effectively communicating with various departments daily. We also manage relationships with internal business partners, maintain and test various internal and vendor-supplied systems, and ensure absolute compliance with all governing regulations and requirements. Our primary objective is to successfully process significant cash activity, in accordance with client directives, while maintaining proper controls to mitigate risk to the firm.

What you will do:

You will be responsible for processing distributions and disbursements in accordance with client directives and IRS guidelines as well as responding to inquiries from various departments in relation to transactions processed. You will be expected to work in an extremely fast paced, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven position which may require overtime during critical production periods.

As an Associate, Cash Operations, you are expected to contribute to a collaborative, team environment as you perform the following daily functions within carefully defined procedures: 

Prepare labels for overnight mailing checks, and/or tax forms;enter transactions manually or performing file loads in various systems;facilitate wire funding, scanning files and printing checks and/or tax forms;generate and transmit critical files to various vendors;stuff, and review mail;ensure USPS mail is picked up and overnight mail is dropped off timely;process stop payments of issued checks and handle ACH/Wire returns/recalls;fulfill audit requests;record metrics;secure NPI (Non-Public Information);process incoming/returned mail items;and complete miscellaneous clerical tasks and research requests.What you have

Required Qualifications:

Elevated level of attention to detail and ability to work under pressure is required as errors and omissions can have significant financial risk.Ability to monitor assigned tasks from within a functional mailbox in a manner that meets or exceeds SLA’s.Ability to comply with department deadlines.Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple processes.Ability to communicate professionally and clearly.Ability to work and learn in a high volume, fast paced, collaborative environment.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications including but not limited to Excel, Outlook, and Word.A thirst for growth and continual learning and development opportunities.Ability to multitask while maintaining flexibility to meet operational need.Ability to participate in a fostering positive and cohesive work environment that promotes employee engagement.

Preferred Qualifications:

Retirement industry and associated tax experience.
