About the role

This role is an Associate level opportunity in the Global Client Group at Brookfield Asset Management with the focus being to support the senior client relationship managers (“CRMs”) in their goal to build new relationships for the Brookfield Private Funds, with a specific focus on institutional investors in South Asia & Taiwan, and to maintain existing client relationships.

The Associate will work across all asset classes that Brookfield specializes in (Real Estate, Infrastructure, Renewables, Private Equity) and stretch across all parts of the fundraising process (direct client communications, research, client / prospect due diligence). This role will give a hungry, energetic candidate early exposure to institutional fundraising in the alternatives space, including career development opportunities along the way with an eye toward developing into a full-fledged institutional marketer further down the road.

The responsibilities of the role include:

Support all aspects of client activities, including client prospect due diligence and onboarding processesCoordinate and attend update meetings with investment teams (prepare pre-meeting reports and appropriate materials, record meeting notes, coordinate any follow-up)Cover on-site due diligence meetings with investment teams (prepare pre-meeting reports and appropriate materials, record meeting notes, coordinate any follow-up)Where appropriate, directly communicate with clients to support their due diligence requestsMaintain Brookfield’s internal CRM system (Salesforce), ensuring that the system is up to date for internal reporting purposes Assist with ad-hoc Business Development activitiesConduct alternative asset industry research and client-specific researchComplete ad-hoc profiles on prospects as neededDetailed research and analysis, leveraging market data and other sources, with the aim to create targeted prospective investor lists for new funds and strategiesMonitor industry press for information relating to our respective prospects and competitorsIn conjunction with Communications and Project Management Teams, help coordinate road shows, conferences, and investor meetingsAssist with conference/ meeting planning: setup, prepare and co-ordinate with different stakeholders (both within and beyond the organization)Facilitate broad investor communication initiatives

About you

Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business management, or other relevant disciplineStrong written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.3-5 years of relevant working experience in the financial services industry; property, infrastructure, private equity or alternative asset funds knowledge Strong investment and financial analytical capabilities and investment reporting experienceHighly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), experience of Salesforce a plusTeam player with positive attitude and pro-active approach to workAble to develop a strong internal/external network and ability to build relationships and work with professionals around the organizationProactively seeks opportunities to get involved in more challenging projectsAbility to multi-task and work in a very fast-paced and team-oriented environmentExcellent interpersonal, analytical, and creative problem-solving abilityStrong written and verbal communication skills in English including preparation and delivery of presentationsSelf-motivated individual with a high level of attention to detailSecond language fluency in Mandarin would be ideal, but not essential
