Purpose:
The Credit Management (CM) function centralizes core credit management and risk leadership, essential for effective credit risk management and escalation. It supports GCIB Coverage and work with Sector Coverage, AIBD functions, as well as relevant APAC teams for efficient task allocation. The role is accountable and responsible for the credit process in Hong Kong, supporting origination efforts and ongoing monitoring with internal team support. Key functions include end-to-end credit preparation, in-country/sector Watch processes, emerging risk analysis, credit cost management, and RWA fixes. CM supports GCIB APAC's objectives by ensuring high-quality credit analysis and monitoring post-origination, assessing borrowers' financial performance, and identifying emerging risks. CM also collaborates with MUFG MGS to enhance credit process partnerships and improve quality and efficiency across GCIB APAC, aligning MGS activities with regional processes.
Job Responsibilities:
Support the ongoing growth and portfolio management of customers within Hong Kong.
Assist in the onboarding and origination of new clients as part of local, regional, and global growth plans.
Support credit analysis across a portfolio of clients focusing on credit quality monitoring.
Conduct annual credit reviews and internal rating reviews, covenant compliance monitoring.
Manage customer requests and support Relationship Managers in meeting customer needs.
Engage with customers, demonstrating proactivity, responsiveness, and support always.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with product partners and across the network.
Coordinate within the network; engage in client interactions for onboarding and account management tasks.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree holder. Degree in business, commerce or law and CFA qualification will be an advantage.
Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in corporate and institutional lending / debt advisory at a major bank or chartered accounting firm.
Candidates from credit rating agencies, investment banks, and investment management firms or corporate treasury teams are welcome.
Strong financial knowledge and analysis acumen.
Intermediate skills in credit writing, financial analysis and modelling, legal documentation, and debt structuring.
Understanding of financial and economic markets
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
Team player attitude with initiative, drive, and enthusiasm.
Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks across various work streams.
