The team you will be a part of

The simulation based design (SBD) team is formed of technical experts with a deep knowledge of Refrigeration products (top-mounts, bottom-mounts, side-by-sides, french-door bottom-mounts, single door, etc). The primary delivery of the team is a suite of virtual models proven to predict product performance without the need of physical units. The team’s physics-based approach ensures the models are parametrized such that the predictive capability is valid between products with varying form/dimensions

This role in summary

Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Structural Simulation Engineer opening to join our Refrigeration Simulation Based Design organization. This position will be located in Apodaca, Nuevo León, México.

Your responsibilities will include

Work with the global simulation based engineering teams and Refrigeration subsystem teams to create and execute highly physics-based system-performance models for refrigeration products to enable virtual prediction of thermal, structure and/or cooling performance.

Use Finite Elements Methods (FEA) tools to develop static, dynamic, implicit and explicit solid mechanic models for refrigerators;

Build representative refrigerator products 3D models, evaluate designs, validate with physical testing and perform iterations to drive efficient designs for optimal product performance.

Write simulation reports, knowledge documents, lessons learned to capture knowledge and promote future reuse.

Develop new techniques and simulation capabilities to reduce overall simulation and design cycle time.

Work with cross functional, category and global teams to align with simulation capabilities, methods and knowledge sharing.

Manage multiple projects while maintaining a strong communication bridge with design, CAD, preprocessing and lab personnel.

Use Ansys Workbench, APDL and Creo extensively to simulate refrigerator thermal and structural  models.

Operate as a liaison between platform teams, subsystems engineers and external suppliers to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of projects.

 

Minimum requirements

Bachelor  in Mechanical Engineering 

A minimum of 1 year thermal and/or structural simulation experience;

Experience of applying Ansys Workbench, APDL, Ansys Mechanical or other FEA tools. Python is a plus;

Full written and spoken english communication;

Ability to work with diverse global teams;

Strong problem solving skills, organization, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

Preferred skills and experiences Background on Solid Mechanics and Structural Analysis.Background on Heat Transfer and Thermodynamics or experience with Refrigeration products is a plus;
