Kroll’s Investigations, Diligence and Compliance practice is recruiting an associate to join our Eastern Europe and Central Asia team. The role is based in London.
In the Investigations, Diligence and Compliance practice, an Associate is responsible for conducting research and analysis, and drafting reports for clients. This role requires an imaginative and creative thinker with the ability to work to tight deadlines often balancing a significant and varied caseload.
As part of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia team, a keen interest in Eastern European and Central Asian politics and business, and the ability to write sophisticated narrative reports in English is essential.
Fluency in spoken and written English as well as a regional language (such as Ukrainian, Polish, Czech, Uzbek, or Kazakh) is a pre-requisite for interview. Beneficial: fluency in another regional language.
Day-to-day Responsibilities:
Carry out secondary research by utilizing databases, internet and public domain tools focused on the region covered by the Eastern Europe and Central Asia team.Conduct research and analysis with a focus on areas of potential risk, including reputational and financial risk.Manage and analyze findings from confidential on the ground sources.Review corporate records; contracts and other documentation, and financial statements.Produce detailed analysis of intelligence identified through research, by interpreting and distilling significant patterns, themes and developments.Write well-structured, logical, and objective reports that presents research in a client-focused manner and addresses the clients’ central questions and concerns.Coordinate international cross-office projects by working closely with colleagues in other offices.Organize project files, maintain accurate research records and record all costs incurred on projects.Identify own learning needs and opportunities to continuously seek to improve performance.The Ideal Candidate:
Strong academic background, demonstrating a high level of proficiency in analytical research, complex problem solving, and critical thinking. Preferably a degree in one of the following: Economics, Journalism, International Relations, Political Science, or Security StudiesExperience and skills in using investigative analysis tools, computer programming, or data analytics.An interest in business and commercial affairs,Strong understanding and a developed interest in regional politics and current affairs.Analytical Thinker: An analytical, inquisitive, and logical mind, with excellent attention to detail and a rigorous approach to conducting research. Enthusiasm for finding “the needle in the haystack.”Communication Skills: Strong communications skills Excellent report writing skills.Language Skills: Required: Fluent spoken and written English as well as fluency in a regional language such as Ukrainian, Polish, Czech, Uzbek or Kazakh.
