Our 1000+ dedicated professionals work across BlackRock’s global teams, including 50+ offices with private markets capabilities.   **About this role**   We are looking for an investment funds lawyer to join our Private Markets Structuring Team in Europe. This individual will help design and structure BlackRock’s private markets products, working across institutional flagships, evergreen products and client mandates, separate accounts, funds of one, and bespoke client solutions. The Private Markets Structuring Team forms part of Global Product Solutions (GPS), BlackRock’s central global product function. GPS oversees enterprise product strategy, including pricing, development, structuring, and platform governance. The Private Markets Structuring Team is responsible for the design, structuring and development of innovative private markets investment fund structures and client mandates for institutional and wealth investors globally. Members of the team interact with stakeholders across the firm, including investment teams, distribution, strategy, operations, and risk and compliance functions. The team works closely with BlackRock’s in-house Legal team to drive the negotiation, formation and documenting of our products and solutions, and regularly engages with external professionals, advisers, industry groups, policymakers and regulators. A key element of the team’s role is also interacting with clients - partnering with sales teams on RFPs and engaging directly with existing and prospective clients on the design, structuring and development of custom solutions. **Responsibilities** + Advising the business (including client relationship, sales and investment teams) on the design and structuring of private markets products and solutions, including features such as domicile, wrapper, key fund terms and legal and regulatory structure. + Efficiently manage multiple complex structuring projects, regularly working with new wrappers and fund structuring innovations (e.g. feeders, local entry points, currency solutions, evergreen vehicles, structured notes). + Review documentation relating to a variety of fund structures. + Assume responsibility and ownership for select products, solutions and separate accounts. + Research legal and regulatory considerations relevant to specific clients, products and jurisdictions, serving as a thought-leader on the practical implications of new rules and guidance. + Partner with the Legal team in engaging with external legal advisors and other service providers. + Work closely with tax, operational, compliance and risk management functions to design effective products and solutions. **Qualifications** + Qualified lawyer with 3+ years of relevant work experience at a leading law firm, bank or asset manager (preferably with a focus on private markets). + Experience working with different fund types (e.g., partnerships, corporates, contractual schemes, regulated and non-regulated vehicles), core jurisdictions (e.g., Luxembourg, Delaware, Cayman), and ideally client segments (both wealth and institutional). + Broad knowledge of the European regulatory landscape, including AIFMD. + Self-motivated and proactive individual with strong desire to learn and succeed. + Excellent analytical, interpersonal and project management skills to manage multiple projects at any one time. + Ability to effectively communicate complex topics with both internal and external parties. + Ability to review fund documentation and other collateral. + Broad understanding of private markets and industry trends. + Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. + Driven, dynamic and proven team player. + Whilst GPS and the Private Markets Structuring Team operates principally in English, the ability to speak other European languages is an advantage in this role. + Strong work ethic.     **What we offer** + Unparalleled exposure to BlackRock’s leading asset management business and industry-leading product team. + Experience in one of the firm’s premier talent engines – with a strong track record of importing, developing, and exporting firm and business-unit leaders. + Experience in building out the private markets business as one of BlackRock’s key growth engines + A collaborative, inquisitive, and high-performing team culture across GPS. + Professional, international working environment. + Entrepreneurial culture offering the opportunity to learn the business from some of the world’s leading professionals. + Collaborative environment, with on-the-job training and mentoring. + Competitive salary with performance-oriented compensation model. **Our benefits** To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of employee benefits including: retirement investment and tools designed to help you in building a sound financial future; access to education reimbursement; comprehensive resources to support your physical health and emotional well-being; family support programs; and Flexible Time Off (FTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about. **Our hybrid work model** BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all.
