The opportunity:

Our Ocean Team plays a crucial role in supporting existing business and winning new opportunities by securing competitive rates, optimizing yield, and advancing our ocean services. As an Associate in GC Allocation & Yield within the GC Ocean Team, you will collaborate closely with Ocean Gateway Teams, Ocean Procurement Team, and other stakeholders to expand our business footprint, enhance customer experiences, and streamline operational processes.

We seek individuals to join our team based initially in our Shenzhen offices, tasked with overseeing all trades. Ideal candidates are passionate about ocean freight, adept at cross-functional collaboration within a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.

 

What you’ll do:

Role Focus: GC Allocation & Yield Associate

Trade Performance Management at GC Level:

Manage allocation at the GC level and oversee DF allocation monitoring across APAC to prevent D/F charges. Ensure optimal allocation and carrier performance within the GC framework. Utilize data analysis to enhance overall GC process efficiencies. Clearly communicate trade strategy to stakeholders and monitor its implementation at the GC level. Coordinate with local gateways for execution support and address customer solutions and ad-hoc needs.

Allocation Tool Handling Process Improvement and Monitoring:

Monitor planning-related processes to enhance FMT product quality in collaboration with gateway teams. Increase automation ratio and propose enhancements to allocation tools. Standardize and minimize exceptions; conduct exception studies to improve planning processes. Monitor SLAs at the GC level for allocation tool tasks.

Business Growth and Customer Engagement:

Drive local business growth through collaboration with District GMs and Sales teams, including PLS sales. Engage customers actively and contribute to RFQ/acquisition and implementation processes. Support Demand Teams in converting local opportunities; conduct regular performance reviews with customers. Support Demand Teams in identifying and implementing local product solutions. Monitor local Line of Business (LoB) performance metrics such as SSAT and client requests.
