Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)

As Associate, Project Development and Origination, you will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation and management of the development team processes that will ensure cross functional and external coordination across the portfolio. You will support the strategic origination and development activities including all aspects of power generation project development and project acquisitions, from inception to execution across diverse North American regions and independent system operators. The primary expectations of the role will include the following:

Job Responsibilities

Supporting the development, implementation and management of project development processes that require cross functional coordination across scheduling, contracting and budgets, ensuring cost-effective execution without compromising quality. Providing project management support to development leads to ensure compliance with the process implemented across the development team. Staying updated on industry trends, regulations, and innovations to identify new opportunities for project development optimization. Helping support relationships with external partners, stakeholders, and communities to ensure smooth project acquisition, development, transition, and operations. Assisting in the identification and evaluation of potential sites for power generation projects, considering factors such as resource availability, environmental impact, and regulatory requirements. Supporting feasibility studies that assess the technical, financial, and environmental viability of proposed projects. Providing support to the pursuit of the required permits, licenses, and approvals from regulatory authorities and stakeholders. Managing project budgets, to ensure cost-effective execution without compromising quality. Collaborating with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless project implementation. Monitoring project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure projects stay on track.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Marketing, Business, or related field or equivalent, prefer MBA. Requires a minimum of 5 yrs of experience. Experience with power generation project development, including gas-fired combined cycles and peaking facilities, battery storage projects, wind projects, and solar projects - experience in other energy areas also a plus. Participation in multi-technology, multi-site project development efforts. Proven history of supporting communications with and securing approval from senior leadership for proposed project actions. Able to work effectively across organizational lines. Broad knowledge of power plant operations and wholesale power market constructs.
