What You’ll Be Doing 

As an Associate, you'll support the distribution of Interest Rate Derivative (IRD) products within the Corporate Solutions Group for CIBC Capital Markets, primarily focused on IRD sales for Corporate Clients.  The role operates in a fast-paced trading floor environment as part of a dynamic, hardworking, production-focused sales team. You'll provide exceptional service and support to the CSG team as we further deepen our relationships with our Corporate clients, with a focus on activities that will increase the distribution of derivatives products within the network. The individual must be a trusted partner, providing dedicated support for each district within their geographic coverage area.

How You’ll Succeed 

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be accountable for the following core responsibilities: 

Relationship building - Work closely with team, traders, RMG, risk, Corporate Banking and Investment Banking to develop appropriate solutions and timely execution of transactions.

Client engagement - Determine and provide product / rate information to our clients in a timely manner with exemplary service. Cross-sell other products, depending on product availability and customers’ requirements, rate sensitivity, at all times making sound judgment.

Market analysis - Monitor/track and analyze market activities, economic factors, on an ongoing basis throughout the day to be in a position to respond to client requests. On your own initiative, develop product knowledge through directed or self-directed study. Be prepared to cross train when the appropriate time arises, as suggested by management. Share any developed skills, knowledge, ideas with management and other members of the Corporate Solutions Group. Attend learning sessions held by the Trading Room as required.

Who You Are

You can demonstrate a minimum of 3 years related experience in interest rate derivative sales for corporate client plus experience with financial statement analysis. You possess strong overall knowledge of Capital Markets with sufficient knowledge of the financial services industry and the regulatory environment.

You give meaning to data. You possess excellent analytical and intellectual capabilities; ability to draft comprehensive presentations using advanced frameworks in PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
