Associate, Support Engineer - Risk & Compliance

This role covers below responsibilities within Northern Trust :

Provide support to the business and other IT teams to ensure stability of production systems.

Ensure priority incidents are being addressed in a timely manner to avoid major incidents

Resolve incidents/failures and ensure closure within the SLAs.

Participate in root cause analysis and provide solution/work around for incidents.

Create change requests and collaborate with sr associate for approvals.

Debug issues , incidents and provide solutions for the same through hands on development.

Proactively identify & implement opportunities to increase efficiency through automation & process efficiencies .

Participate in  engineering efforts i.e. system design , build, deployment and testing.

Ensure seamless running of batch process/application through proactive & regular health checks

Support scheduled weekend activities, participate in disaster recovery events and release testing events.

Provide support for audit and compliance related activities .

Partner and communicate with global stakeholders, other IT teams, and business areas.

Ability to work with vendors and support staff on support tickets and follow up regularly till resolution is found

Work with upstream and downstream application teams proactively for any risks or potential issues.

Should be flexible to work in early APAC and EMEA time zones

Should be flexible for upskilling in different skill sets

Minimum qualification:

Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or engineering

5-7 years of extensive work experience in Unix, SQL, DataStage, API integration and Oracle database

Required Skills

Must have extensive work experience with Unix, SQL and Oracle database

Good hands on experience on ETL data stage and Web-logic servers

Must be well versed with the Unix shell scripting

Hands on experience on control-M scheduling tool for batch monitoring

Hands on experience in API integration SOAP or Rest is important .

Ability to resolve issues/troubleshoot application in a high-pressure & time critical environment.

Experience with ITSM Service now tool  and Dynatrace will be added advantage

Self-motivated to initiate actions and be responsible for consequent decisions.

Good programming and debugging skills.

Strong analytical, design thinking and problem solving skills.

Strong written/verbal communications skills.

Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. 

Nice to Have Skills

Knowledge of reporting tools like Power BI

Hands on experience on ADO ( Azure Devops) .

Hands on experience on Dot Net and MQ   

Exposure to Agile practices ( Scrum /Kanban) .

Understanding of ITIL Process guidelines, with specific focus on Service Operations and Incident Management.

Functional knowledge of risk and compliance in finance business .

Hands on experience on risk management systems like  Archer or Murex.
