What is the opportunity?
As the Associate with the Treasury Services desk you will be responsible for ensuring RBC APAC Branches can meet daily cash requirement and maintain adherence to internal and regulatory liquidity metrics. You will also support project work within all pods of activity across the desk as required and pro-actively seek to learn about activities conducted across other pods of activity on the desk. You will learn funding principles, accounting structures and risk; contributing to discussions on markets, risk and governance.
What will you do?
Participate and support front office projects and senior management on adhoc analysis and business development. Daily cash management, ensuring adherence to end of day cash requirements, leverage, market risk and IRRBB limits.
Support the team in ensuring all APAC entities remain compliant with internal and external liquidity limits and other regulatory and internal limits as required by entity.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of risks run – and accounting treatments used – by the desk and contribute to team discussions on market and credit risk.
Communicate with your line manager and other senior F&L stakeholders on market events, risk views and overall desk positioning. Engage with internal and external market participants to gain knowledge on market development and market moves.
Provide analytic support with various business planning and strategic development assignments, including automating workflows/desk processes, preparing discussion materials and presentations.
Prudently manage risk within assigned limits and escalate any breaches in a timely manner.
Proactively identify operational risks/control deficiencies within the business.
Provide work support to senior traders, including those outside of your reporting line.
Identify investment opportunities to optimize return of liquidity portfolio.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Understand and adhere to RBC’s Code of conduct and values.Degree educated or relevant experience.Minimum of 3 years of work experience in Treasury, funding, liquidity and balance sheet management or Markets-related roles.Strong attention to detail and sense of ownership to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.Strong problem solving skill to analyze data and provide optimization solutions.Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and to collaborate with global teams to resolve front to back issues.Automation experience, VBA.Nice-to-have
STIR experience, Money Market/Interest Rate/FXExperience with either of MAS/HKMA/APRA/JFSA regulation.Prior experience with banking book managementWhat is in it for you?
