Associate Account Manager

Job Details:

The Account Manager Associate’s primary responsibility, under the direction of the Lead Account Manager is to support and be a resource for the Account Manager team for both Infusion and Specialty Pharmacy specific to customer and patient needs.

In addition to supporting and being a resource for the Account Manager team, the Account Manager Associate would execute the daily functions of the insurance verification area including verification of insurance coverage, entering, and updating patient demographics into the patient management system, communication of financial responsibility and securing reimbursement related paperwork. 

Additional responsibilities may include coordinating new/existing patient services with patient/caregiver, nursing, and operations.

Responsibilities

Naming incoming faxes.

Payment Agreements.

Performs daily follow up with hospital staff to check on possible discharges under Account Manager supervision.

Coordinates documentation as required by payers for ABN.

Notifies agencies when deliveries will arrive and fax orders to agencies.

Enters and updates patient demographics and services into the patient management system.

Completes insurance checks on a daily basis as needed under Account Manager supervision.

Obtains authorization/precertification as required by payer for Specialty or Infusion.

Communicates price quotes and completes payer requirement paperwork, ABN, etc.

Works with referral source/liaisons to obtain supporting documentation to qualify Medicare patients under Account Manager supervision.

Reviews benefits and financial responsibilities with referral sources, patients, or family members.

Coordinates completion of Financial Assistance Forms,

Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

2 year college degree or equivalent business/healthcare related experience required.

2-3 years of experience in DME (enteral), billing/collections and/or insurance verifications preferred.

Knowledge of medical terminology desired.  Basic computer skills required (Microsoft Word, Outlook).

Excellent organizational and communication skills required.

Previous customer service experience required.

Capable of managing multiple priorities in fast paced office.
