Summary of Position Purpose:

Cost accounting: identify and, by liaising with other departments, resolve costing issuesTo be responsible for certain month end processes and reconciliationsTo be responsible for certain monthly/weekly tasks, for example variance analysisAssist with any other ad hoc duties within finance & other areas of the business when required

Primary Responsibilities:

Cost accounting:
- Material price variance analysis
- Production variance analysis
- Stock valuation change analysisAssist with month end close activities and meet month end deadlinesRevenue recognition testingAnalyse intercompany transactionsCollate data for audit queriesFixed asset cycle countsCreate journalsAssist both the local and wider Donaldson Finance team with ad-hoc requestsManage petty cash

Knowledge

Essential

AAT Level 3Technical accounting knowledge including sound understanding of DRs & CRsMicrosoft Excel knowledge – pref VLOOKUP’s, SUMIF, Pivot Tables.

Desirable

AAT Level 4Technical knowledge of Oracle or a similar ERP systemPreparing reconciliations and all typical month end journals
