Fidelity Investments Life Insurance (FILI) is looking for an Associate Actuary. You will help drive our future state Enterprise Risk Management Program. In addition, you will work with a diverse team that identifies, analyzes, evaluates, and manages balance sheet risks of Fidelity Investments’ life and annuity insurance company. The Role

As Associate Actuary, you report to the company’s Chief Risk Officer and will support insurance risk management for all products. You use FIS Prophet actuarial software and Microsoft Excel to model insurance and investment risks which provide the basis for evaluating the severity and likelihood of various financial outcomes and underlie long range capital planning. You also support annual prospective solvency analysis and capital sufficiency determination. You will:

Evaluate risks of new products including potential reinsurance options and recommend risk management solutions.Model risks of the company including (i) insurance risks, (ii) investment and liquidity risks and (iii) reinsurance counterparty credit risksMaintain and enhance the companies’ economic capital models and build and improve climate risk models.Promote and maintain model governance and documentation as per corporate and actuarial standards.Communicate results both in writing and in person to senior stakeholders.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring5+ years of insurance experience.Fellow in the Society of Actuaries. Alternatively, candidates who are Associates in the Society of Actuaries and who bring a strong modeling background will also be considered.Experience with individual life insurance and annuity products.Technical skills to build new models and/or expand or improve existing models including model development, testing, controls and documentation.Prior experience working in Prophet or another modeling software package such as AXIS, MG-ALFA, and/or MoSes.Familiarity with Python, Visual Basic, SQL, or other programming languages.Understands the risks associated with insurance products and explain sophisticated topics to non-technical people at all organizational levels.Ability to build and maintain positive relationships as you work collaboratively across teams.
