The Associate Athletic Director for Academics and Sport Performance serves as a member of the department’s senior leadership team that is committed to excellence and advancing the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics through its strategic plan and vision. This position is responsible for overseeing the athletics department’s academics, athletic medicine, nutrition, performance psychology and community service. The position also serves as a sport administrator for designated sports.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. A minimum of six (6) years’ related full-time professional experience in NCAA intercollegiate athletics at a Division I institution plus two (2) years of supervisory/management experience. Demonstrated experience leading one or more of the student-athlete experience focused areas within a Division I Athletics Department including academics, athletic medicine, strength and conditioning, nutrition, performance psychology and community service. Demonstrated experience as a leader to provide direction to student athletes and/or staff members. Strong attention to detail, time management, organizational, verbal, writing, interpersonal skills. Ability to plan, establish priorities, and organize varied and complex tasks. Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays depending on work and game schedules. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, work as part of a team and motivate staff in a fast – paced environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the university by the university’s insurance carrier.
