**Position Description:**
Assists in providing leadership and direction for an assigned area within the athletics department. Responsible for the development, coordination, and administration of the department. Responsible for employees in the assigned area.

**Major/Essential Functions:**
**Management Responsibilities**
+ Support the Senior Associate Athletics Director in operating an effective compliance and regulatory program, including responsibility for daily compliance office operations.
+ Oversee, manage, and coach direct reports, including full-time compliance staff members and graduate/student assistants.
+ Assist the Senior Associate Athletics Director with ensuring Texas Tech University (TTU) and Texas Tech Athletics leadership (President, Athletics Director, Faculty Athletics Representative, senior athletics leadership, sport administrators, Athletic Council) are knowledgeable about the content and operation of the athletics compliance program to exercise oversight on its implementation and effectiveness.
+ Serve as the lead or support oversight for the following athletics compliance operations to thoroughly assess and demonstrate that TTU meets the NCAA’s definition of institutional control and complies with Conference and University policies and/or state and federal regulations: Education and Training, Policies and Procedures, Program Monitoring and Review, Legislation and Governance, Enforcement, Response, and Prevention of Reoccurrence.
+ Continued development and utilization of technology to educate and monitor compliance programs (e.g., Teamworks, C& R, Influencer, RSRO, LSDBi, CA, Transfer Portal, RealResponse, etc.).
**Sport Liaison:** Football, Baseball
+ Responsible for all monitoring, education, and interpretations of **Bylaw 11-17** for football and baseball.
+ Responsible for **notification of transfer requests, transfer portal, and tracers** for football and baseball.
+ Responsible for **coach and staff education** for football.
+ Responsible for **coach and staff education** for Olympic sports.
+ Responsible for **student-athlete education** for football and baseball.
+ Coordinate elite athlete insurance (permanent total disability, loss of value, and critical injury and illness insurance) for football and baseball.
**Other Responsibilities**
+ Serve as Compliance Team Lead for Bylaw 15 -- policy and procedure, education, and monitoring [Athletic Scholarship Agreement, Team Scholarship Budgets under the House Settlement, Nonrenewals/Renewals/Increases, Reductions/Cancellations, Textbooks, Housing, Training Table].
+ Serve as the primary compliance liaison to the Campus Financial Aid Team.
+ Responsible for assisting in complex NCAA interpretations, waivers, and problem-solving for all department units and teams, often seeking assistance from NCAA and Conference peers and benchmarking with other constituents.
+ Assist with department investigations and reviews of potential NCAA violations, including oversight of NCAA violation reporting and documentation.
+ Travel with football and baseball as assigned.

**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD) preferred.
+ Minimum of 7 years of progressive compliance experience in intercollegiate athletics.
+ Strong knowledge of NCAA and Big 12 rules and regulations.
+ Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including coaches, administrators, and student-athletes.
+ Previous experience with NCAA enforcement, eligibility, or governance.
+ Proficiency with athletics compliance software systems (e.g., Teamworks products, NCAA Compliance Assistant, etc.).

**Required Qualifications:**
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Five (5) years progressively responsible leadership experience in intercollegiate athletics administration. Must have thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

**Pay Range: $95,000 - $110,000 (Annual)**
