Description Role: Attorney - Employment Law Location: Washington, D.C. | Fully Remote Salary: Depending on experience | $100-150K+ Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, etc. Description: A prestigious law firm is seeking an Attorney with a passion for employment and labor law, particularly representing federal employees and military members in employment law disputes. This opportunity involves representing federal employees before the U.S. Equal Opportunity Commission (EEOC), U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), Office of Special Counsel (OSC) regarding removals, suspensions, and other disciplinary actions. Responsibilities: • Representing clients in front of the U.S. Equal Opportunity Commission (EEOC), U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), Office of Special Counsel (OSC) • Handling whistleblower retaliation matters and Office of Special Counsel (OSC) Complaints • Representing federal employees who work at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), and the National Security Agency (NSA) • Participate in hearings and depositions on behalf of federal employee clients. Representing clients in front of the U.S. Equal Opportunity Commission (EEOC). This will include handling matters involving the following: •Advocacy and protection for federal employees •Race discrimination, sex/gender discrimination, religious discrimination, age discrimination, retaliation & reprisal •EEO complaints involving corrective actions, reversal of disciplinary records and removal of any evidence from Official Personnel File (OPF), equitable relief, such as reassignment or change in duties Represent clients in front of U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB). This will include handling matters involving the following: •Appeals of Adverse Actions taken against federal employees •Individual Right of Action appeals against federal employees for protected whistleblower disclosures •Appeals taken under the Uniformed Services Employment •Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) •Veteran Employment Opportunities Act (VEOA) •Appeals of Office Personnel Management (OPM) decisions concerning retirement and annuity calculations and entitlements. Handling whistleblower retaliation matters and Office of Special Counsel (OSC) Complaints: •Filing Prohibited Personnel Practices (PPP) complaint with the U.S. Office of Special Counsel (OSC) •Issuing Individual Right of Action (IRA) •Fighting whistleblower retaliation cases Requirements • Position: Associate Attorney • Proficient knowledge of Federal Employment Law • Experience with Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) cases • Strong understanding and experience in handling Discrimination - EEOC cases • Experience with Whistleblower cases • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team • Strong focus on detail and organizational skills • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information • Adherence to the highest degree of strict client confidentiality • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school • Active license to practice law in the state.
