Join us to help make an impact. **Your Opportunity** As an Associate Attorney and Privacy Specialist, your primary responsibility is to provide legal advice and counsel to EBSCO Information Services on commercial transactions, focusing on the review, negotiation, and preparation of legal documents for customers. You will accomplish this by working cross-functionally with the Sales and Information Security teams to coordinate the contracting process, and by maintaining subject matter expertise in global data use and privacy laws. This remote position is U.S.-based only (excluding U.S. territories). **What You'll Do** + Review, draft, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, including those related to licensing (both EBSCO paper and third-party paper) and agreements involving privacy and data security matters + Act as a contract liaison between the organization and customers, including participation in pre-contract discussions, contract negotiations, and contract changes + Provide legal expertise on companywide projects or specialized legal matters and perform special research projects as assigned + Monitor the contract process to ensure compliance with the organization's contractual guidelines, customer specifications, and organizational policies + Assist in the development and maintenance of standard contract templates for various product lines, both publisher and sales + Stay informed of legislative developments in data privacy and technology to ensure compliance across the organization and work with cross-functional teams to integrate data privacy and security practices into business operations + Provide analysis and counseling on current and future laws, rules, regulations, and industry best practices, including those related to data privacy and information security, such as GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant frameworks + Assess commercial risk of contracts and maintain professional growth and development through seminars, CLEs, and professional affiliations to stay abreast of the latest developments in applicable law **Your Team** You will be welcomed as a member of the Legal Services team, a team of 4 people, as well as a member of the Sales, Marketing and Publisher Relations team. There will be ample resources, tools, training, and support to ensure your success as an Associate Attorney and Privacy Specialist and your development and career growth at EIS. **About You** + 7+ years as a practicing attorney + Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctor (JD) Degree + Admitted to practice law in at least one state and in good standing with the applicable bar association + An approved professional privacy certification **What sets you apart** + Demonstrated ability to facilitate effective communication between the executive team, customers, sales, and technology units + Demonstrated success in negotiating and interfacing with customers + Demonstrated expertise in managing multiple priorities with accuracy and timeliness + Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team to analyze legal issues and use knowledge to problem solve and inform legal decisions **Pay Range** USD $104,145.00 - USD $148,775.00 /Yr. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location.
