Our client, a prestigious law firm recognized in the 2024 edition of Best Law Firms®, is seeking a highly-motivated Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Hermosa Beach. This role provides an exciting opportunity to handle high-stakes business and commercial litigation matters, including professional liability, securities litigation/arbitration, and directors & officers defense.
Candidate Profile:
JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
Active Bar Admission in California.
1–4 years of substantive experience in litigation, including business/commercial litigation, professional liability, securities litigation/arbitration, and/or directors & officers defense.
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
Ability to take and defend depositions.
Familiarity with both state and federal courts preferred.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
Willingness to travel locally for court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, site inspections, and depositions.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage complex commercial litigation matters from inception to resolution.
Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
Take and defend depositions, handle discovery requests, and assist in trial preparation.
Represent clients in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitrations and mediations.
Work closely with senior attorneys on case strategy and litigation management.
