Responsibilities

Summary: When someone needs insurance coverage for the unique, the unusual, or the unconventional, they come to Burns & Wilcox. We are looking for candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit, drive for career advancement and desire to develop relationships to join our team as an Associate Broker. The Associate Broker will support Brokers with all job functions to learn the industry, business, and job responsibilities necessary for future growth as a Broker. Serving as in intermediary between the Retailer and the Insurance Company, they market, identify, solicit, and arrange appropriate insurance coverage for clients. The Associate Broker will drive new business to assist Brokers in meeting or exceeding production goals, as well as build strong, positive relationships to increase the reputation of Burns & Wilcox.

 

Produce income by brokering specialty Property and Casualty lines of insuranceCultivate and maintain excellent client and agent relationshipsDevelop solutions for individual risk placement as well as program business developmentPromote new business and/or renewal business to achieve production and market criteriaEvaluate business or individual customers’ needs and financial status and propose protection plans that meet their standardsSeek opportunities to access new insurance markets and products, negotiating the best terms and coverages availablePrepare submissions for markets and secure quotesSupervise execution of company underwriting guidelines, corporate policy and procedures, and compliance with contract termsAssist broker with meeting or exceeding production goals as assigned by BWBDefine and monitor successful sales and marketing strategies in cooperation with senior management Qualifications

 

2+ years of experience in the insurance industryBachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceInsurance license is preferredSolid coverage, terms, conditions, and pricing knowledge related to management, professional, or cyber liability, plus current knowledge of market and industry issuesTechnologically savvy and data drivenAbility to perform tasks in a stationary position throughout working hoursTravel when necessary in order to foster strong client relationships
