Associate Business Systems Analyst (Entry Level)

Position Overview:

The Associate Business Systems Analyst will have the opportunity to work closely with a dynamic and international underwriting team.  This role will be instrumental in bringing innovative technology ideas to reality across a growing suite of specialized risk products. This person will be diplomatic to resolve multi-stakeholder business problems and motivated to learn new systems and skills.

The role will be involved with RestAPIs, SQL, UML Diagrams, and DevOps Methodology so any experience with and/or knowledge of those is strongly preferred.

Performance Objectives:

30 Days - Learn the business and IT systems: gain familiarity with the TMHCC Specialty insurance business by learning the product suite at a high level and the state of the IT systems currently in place. Consult with business users to identify current business operating procedures and to clarify system functionality and application objectives.

90 Days - Develop a more detailed understanding: work with various departments, particularly underwriting, to assess IT system functionality and determine user and developer needs. Establish and maintain a thorough knowledge of products, both from a business perspective, as well as from a technical perspective.

6 Months - Work with the development team to test and improve IT systems: collaborate with web developers and business analysts to document future state system requirements and test various web applications. Support users with a variety of business needs including new system enhancement requests, troubleshooting issues, generation of reports and business intelligence.

12 Months - Support users and full application development lifecycle: support the full application development lifecycle including new release testing and quality. Collaborate with various departments to model workflow and business needs, and creatively think of new ways to utilize information technology to grow business.

Your Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience.Up to 2 years of relevant and progressive professional experience.Insurance and/or financial services experience or internships strongly preferred.Intermediate proficiency and experience using Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Experience working with programming languages is a plus, but not required.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels within the organization.Adept at working as part of a team yet capable of working independently as needed.

Travel Expectations:

Travel Percentage: 5-10%Occasional travel for training, conferences, and visits to other offices for department meetings.
