Role:
The Global Compliance Testing (GCT) - Regulatory Change Validation (RCV) team conducts reviews to validate implementation effectiveness of new regulations and/or changes to existing regulations. The Associate Consultant plans and executes validation testing in line with applicable regulations, documenting results and communicating these results to management.
Shift: 4pm – 1am
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Reviews and interprets laws, regulations and internal policies/procedures for the purpose of developing appropriate testing plans. Develops testing scope to validate compliance with the implementation of regulatory requirements.
Executes the annual GCT RCV plan by conducting validation reviews, working closely with the manager and meeting scheduled deadlines
Performs reviews within the deadlines and scope outlined and agreed while considering both global and regional requirements as well as local policies and regulations. Direct liaison with Business Unit Managers and Risk and Compliance Partners.
Applies analytical skills to identify potential gaps or areas for control enhancement within the first and second lines of defense.
Follows established policies, procedures and standards for testing, including appropriately documenting testing performed.
Delivers a work product that requires less revision.
Participates in all applicable training.
Validates and communicates results in clear, concise language, escalating key risks in a timely manner.
Skills/Qualifications:
• Requires ability to communicate in a clear, concise and effective manner (verbal and written).
• Requires experience related to monitoring/testing, including planning of tests, ideally gained through experience in compliance testing, operational risk or internal/external audit
• General knowledge of bank compliance regulations; knowledge of specific topics such as payments, market abuse, privacy, AML, Sanctions, fraud is a plus.
• Requires understanding of regional regulations and relevant laws.
• Preferred knowledge of any of the following: Custody, Asset Servicing, FX, Fund Administration, Fiduciary, Brokerage businesses as well as corporate governance such as outsourcing and bank secrecy requirements.
• Displays confidence and expertise to advise management and the business
• Requires experience providing compliance advisory and operational support
• Requires proactivity and minimal supervision
• Displays strong organizational skills, a collaborative approach to work, with strong interpersonal skills
• Deals effectively with multiple competing deadlines
• Requires attention to detail
• Requires expanded conceptual knowledge in own job discipline
• Understands key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work
• Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations
The successful candidate would benefit from having:
• Provides informal guidance to new team members
• A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required
• 3-5 years of related experience
