About the role: The Health & Safety Owner’s Representative will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards on client construction projects. Acting as the liaison between the client and the General Contractor (GC), this role will monitor work activities, document non-compliance, and collaborate with both teams to resolve any safety issues. The individual will also support the client’s safety initiatives, assist in the review of safety documents, and contribute to the continuous improvement of health and safety practices on site.

Responsibilities:

Serve as the client’s Owner’s Representative for health & safety throughout the construction process.Observe all work activities to ensure compliance with:Applicable federal, state, and local health and safety regulations.The General Contractor’s project-specific health and safety plan.The General Contractor’s internal health and safety procedures.Client-specific health & safety requirements, when applicable.Document all non-compliant observations using the client’s construction management software (Procore).Communicate non-compliances effectively to both the client and the General Contractor (GC).Assist the GC in responding to observations, including:Providing clarity and answering any questions from the client or GC teams.Guiding the GC through the resolution process.Explaining the client’s expectations for compliance and why a particular observation is considered non-compliant.Supporting the GC’s use of Procore for tracking and resolving issues.Confirming alignment with any solution proposed by the GC.Provide monthly reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, as defined by the client.Participate in and support client and GC-led safety meetings, representing the client’s safety expectations.Collaborate with construction managers during monthly safety walks and inspections, involving the GC representative.Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), coach, and resource for client and GC onsite construction managers concerning health and safety.Assist client Construction Managers in reviewing and responding to safety documents submitted by the GC.


Qualifications:

Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in construction safety requiredProven experience in health & safety roles within construction projects.In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety regulations.Familiarity with construction management software, specifically Procore.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with both internal teams and external contractors.Ability to guide and educate teams on best practices for safety compliance.Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in safety management, OSHA 30, CHSTPrevious experience working as an Owner’s Representative for health & safety.

Mileage is compensated based on standard rates. Continuous education courses will be reimbursed if the candidate can demonstrate the courses’ applicability/benefit to the role.

The salary for this position can range from $80,000 - $111,000 annually; actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's competencies, level of experience, education, location, divisional budget and internal peer compensation comparisons.
