Job Description

Fisher Scientific Healthcare Market Division is a leading diagnostic products and services distribution channel within the U.S. healthcare market, serving customers including hospital labs, government labs, reference/independent labs, acute care facilities, physician office labs and clinics, and group purchasing organizations (GPOs). This position will provide outstanding contract, legal and compliance support in a fast-paced, demanding environment. We enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

What will you do?

1.  Partner with divisional commercial and business teams to draft, review and negotiate contracts in a timely manner, consistent with all corporate contracting policies and approval requirements.

• Counsel clients on healthcare compliance matters and commercial contract strategy.
• Serve as contract SME to improve colleagues' understanding and compliance with contractual 
obligations.
• Regularly communicate the status of contracts to leadership for quick resolution.
• Assist commercial and sales operations teams with requests for proposal (RFP) and requests for information (RFI) to optimize commercial opportunities while minimizing any potential risk.
• Develop and update templates, playbooks and other commercial resources.

2.  Assist with other assignments to meet business needs and compliance initiatives, like training and implementation of contract automation tools and other process improvements.


• Anticipate and drive the development of functional solutions and SOPs for a range of legal and business issues.
• Guide customer conflict resolution and commercial/business disputes and facilitate regulatory review and resolution of complaints.


3.  Research and advise on a variety of legal, regulatory and compliance matters, including 
healthcare fraud and abuse, healthcare transparency laws, commercial antitrust, anti-bribery/FCPA, medical device regulation, marketing and promotions, and data privacy.

• Partner with compliance, quality and regulatory colleagues to ensure effective prevention, detection and remediation of violations of law, regulations and internal policies.
• Educate and train employees on their obligations under the various laws, regulations and company 
policies.


How will you get here?

• Bachelor’s degree, Juris Doctorate and admission to state Bar required

• 5-7 years commercial contracts and business legal experience.
• Mix of law firm and inhouse experience a plus

• Ability to translate legal theory into applied business success

• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skill with an approachable presentation style

• Enjoy finding customer centric solutions while protecting the best interest of the company

• Experience developing and implementing legal policies and solutions

• Participates in cross-functional project teams to deliver strong results with limited resources, short timelines and a high degree of accuracy

• Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information

• Outstanding research and analytical skills for interpretation of legislation and regulations to enable effective of counseling clients about compliance responsibilities
• Validated intuition for business and understanding of financial implications contract terms
