As an Associate Counsel at Convo Communications, LLC, you'll play a crucial role in providing legal support and guidance across the company's operations. Working closely with the legal team and key stakeholders, you'll ensure compliance with laws and regulations, mitigate legal risks, and contribute to the organization's overall success. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you'll be pivotal in our legal operations.
The Associate Counsel will support the Chief Legal Officer and oversee the contract drafting process for sales-related transactions.
This includes:
Drafting and Reviewing Sales Contracts: Collaborating with the sales team to draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring alignment with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards. Customizing Contracts: Tailoring contract templates for various sales scenarios, such as service subscriptions, licensing agreements, and vendor contracts. Ensuring Legal Compliance: Keeping updated on relevant laws and regulations, including consumer protection and contract law, to advise the sales team appropriately. Streamlining Processes: Implementing efficient contract management processes and leveraging technology to streamline drafting, negotiation, and execution workflows. Training and Education: Providing the sales team with training on contract matters, covering negotiation best practices, key terms, and compliance requirements. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating cross-functionally with various departments, including sales, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment on contractual matters and facilitate smooth execution of sales transactions. Continuous Improvement: Proactively identifying areas for process improvement and contributing to the development and enhancement of contract management policies, procedures, and templates. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, human resources, operations, and sales, to provide legal support and guidance on various business initiatives. Special Projects: Assist in special legal projects and initiatives as assigned by the Chief Legal Officer or senior management.
This role requires a strong legal background, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to balance legal requirements with business objectives in a fast-paced sales environment:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the Bar in any state. 1-5 years of experience practicing law. Strong understanding of commercial law and sales processes. Should have an interest in corporate law. Prior experience in sales is desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
