Description:

Reporting to the OPS Manager, as part of the Mainframe Operations team, you will be responsible for delivering a highly client focused support service, developing a team of Mainframe Operation, Support Level I and II Engineers to exceed client expectations both in technical resolution and customer service. Supporting Mission Critical infrastructure for Ensono’s clients, delivering a responsive and exceptional support service you’ll resolve complex technical client incidents and problems. Using your proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills you will help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to optimize our clients’ infrastructure. The Mainframe Operations team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the service we deliver to our clients by effectively: Providing second level Mainframe support for system and customer batch processing System and online monitoring Batch ABEND & recovery and system restarts Conducting proactive and reactive incident, event and problem management Building strong client relationships by becoming a point of contact for clients Your day-to-day role will expose you to a diverse mix of client solutions and multiple vendor technologies. In addition to our online training portal - ‘Ensono University’, you’ll be supported by both internal and external training. Longer term objectives will concentrate on helping you develop the skills and experience necessary for you to progress on your chosen career path.

Key Responsibilities

Managing and prioritizing all tickets/ alerts/ requests logged into the OPS queue Assist and mentor team members in Ensono’s structured approach to troubleshooting problems Act as a positive role model and mentor in respective shift for fellow team members On-the-job coaching of team members in their development Develop and maintain good communications within and across teams Act as escalation point for major incidents in respective shift Provide 1st level support for Mainframe System, Batch and Onlines and ensure that escalated issues are responded to within defined service levels As part of team, standardize and improve working practices / Standard Operating Procedure Ensure Tickets are being progressed in correct technical directions in timely manners within given SLA Identify and provide technical training to Operations groups as needed Prepare shift turnover/ client reports and lead the Huddle call in absence of Technical lead Ensure client’s critical batch streams complete with in given SLA Maintain high availability of agreed client services through proactive measures

Required Skills 

Minimum 2- 5 years of experience in Mainframe Operations. Candidates should possess strong knowledge on Mainframe Operations; Batch monitoring, Console Operations, Production Support, Production Scheduling (off hours) and IPL Activities. Extensively worked on any of the Scheduling OPC for Production / Batch Monitoring. Strong knowledge in Console Operations and should worked in complex Sysplex environment. Able to provide 2nd Level support for System and online monitoring, batch ABEND & recovery and system restarts. Strong knowledge on MVS, VTAM, JCL, IPL, HMC Concepts, TSO, JES2, CICS, TAPE, SDSF. Able to understand the JCL structure and do necessary changes per instructions from application programmer. Sound knowledge on all ITIL process, Problem/Incident/Change. Ready to work in 24x7 environments.

Excellent oral / written communication, interpersonal and time-management skills. Ability to work in a flexible, team-oriented and constantly changing environment. Ability to communicate effectively and consistently with all levels of the organization, and to work independently without direct supervision. Ability to support and help the senior team members in correction of production incidents. Good technical writing and documentation skills and willingness to adequately document all work performed. Strong problem solving and analytical skills with knowledge of problem analysis Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure Confidence in liaising with other personnel. Good team working skills essential
