Department Office of the Dean- College of Health Sciences Division Division of Academic Affairs Open Date 03/05/2025 Open Until Filled Yes Educational and Experience Requirement Earned Doctorate or terminal degree, a record of high quality performance as an educator, evidence of scholarly achievement, and ability in administration at college or university level. Must demonstrate human relations and managerial skills and an understanding of disciplines which comprise the College.

Must be a current Sam Houston State University employee in order to be considered for this position. Nature & Purpose of Position Serves as a critical member of the college’s administrative leadership team and participates in university-wide initiatives. Assists the Dean of the College in dealing with the needs of faculty, staff, and students of the College and provide oversight for three general areas: academic affairs, assessment, and community engagement. Primary Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to assisting the Dean of the College with the following functions: general administration, curriculum and instruction, accreditation efforts, evaluation and assessment, faculty matters, College organization, internal and external College communication, student matters, administration of scholarships, fiscal matters, and interacting with other colleges and divisions within the university. Performs other related duties as assigned. Other Specifications As required to discharge duties effectively and efficiently.
