Role Definition:
As an Associate Design Engineer for EMD machines detailing team, you will have the opportunity to Create, implement and improve engineering designs, processes, techniques, machinery to meet customer requirements and maximize product quality, learn and contribute towards modelling and detailing projects. In this engineering position, you will build your technical expertise while learning product development through practical application and staying abreast of innovative technology. You will also build your professional network, engage with peers and receive guidance from Design Engineers.
Responsibilities:
• Understanding Requirements from Design Engineers on the drawings
• Supports on Input validation/ Input preparation
• Support on comparison across machines for BIQ implementation, add value to the drawings in terms of Manufacturability, Assembly issues in detailing projects.
• Support on effective query handling, prioritize his own tasks for Quality and on time deliverables.
• Creating new designs, models, drawings (Sheetmetal, Arrangement, Casting drawings) ensuring design acceptance and manufacturing readiness
• Participating in the adoption of new technologies, processes, services & systems to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement
• Collaborating with all Internal and external engineering partners to provide a design solution that meets the requirements of the customer.
• Collaborating with cross functional teams to determine the root cause of problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
• Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Degree Requirement:
Degree required in Mechanical Engineering curriculum
Minimum 2-3 Years of relevant experience in machines, Creo & Team Centre.
Good Understanding of Engineering Print Reading, GD&T and welding.
Prior Experience on Caterpillar Systems like HVC, EDS, Teamcenter, Vis-Mock-up, SDP Fluid lines are preferred.
