Associate Designer - Jewelry
OVERVIEW: Marc Jacobs International, powered by the creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks a reative and detail-oriented Associate Designer - Jewelry to join the team based in its New York City (SoHo) headquarters. The ideal candidate will work closely with our lead designer to conceptualize, develop, and produce unique jewelry designs. This role requires a passion for design, strong technical skills, and a keen eye for detail. RESPONSIBILITIES : + Assist in developing new jewelry designs, including sketching concepts and creating technical drawings. + Collaborate with lead designer to brainstorm ideas and ensure alignment with brand aesthetics and market trends. + Create 2D/3D digital renderings using design software as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. + Organize and maintain Miro, the design structure, ensuring all design processes and workflows are documented and accessible. + Source and organize materials, including gemstones, metals, chains and other design components. + Prepare and maintain design specifications, including measurements, materials, and production details. + Communicate with factories on design details and execution. + Creating tech packs for each design. + Work closely with PD and Merchandising teams to ensure designs are executed to quality standards. + Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, materials, and techniques. + Assist in quality control checks of prototypes and final pieces to ensure adherence to design specifications. + Support administrative tasks, including maintaining design records and preparing design presentations for cross functional partners. + Take notes on updates, sketches and designs during meetings. + Organize and keep work area clean. QUALIFICATIONS:     •    Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Jewelry Design, Fashion Design, or a related field with 2+ years of experience.     •    Strong sketching and hand-drawing skills.     •    Knowledge of gemstones, metals, and jewelry manufacturing processes is a plus.     •    Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.     •    Attention to detail with a strong sense of aesthetics and creativity.     •    Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.     •    Strong AI skills for enhancing digital design processes and workflows.     •    Strong communication skills for collaboration with internal and external teams. PREFERRED SKILLS:     •    Proficiency in Centric     •    Experience in wax carving, model making, or other hands-on techniques.     •    Understanding of branding and market positioning in the jewelry industry. SALARY & BENEFITS/WHAT WE OFFER:  The compensation for this position ranges from $70,000-$75,000 (annually). The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience.
