Job overview and responsibilities The Associate Developer plays the support role in creating and maintaining software solutions supporting United's business requirements. The Associate Developer's role is to develop, design, create, and modify software applications/systems to support core business functions.  This individual will apply proven technical (best practices and patterns), communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help develop/design/implement software applications/systems to maximize IT's benefit to United.   On the Travel Readiness team, the Associate Developer will be part of a team that is critical to the success of the customer’s travel journey. The Travel Readiness team is responsible for checking in customers, checking international travel documents and ensuring those customers are a green light to travel on their trip. The individual will build and enhance the Check In service layer software to meet the needs of our growing customer base and business demands.Design, develop and modify software applications/systems according to specificationsConsults with Business Analysts and business partners on potential software solutions for business specificationsProvides support to the software development leads (Senior Developer) during the design portion of the SDLCSupport and solve software systems as required, optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing follow-up on all issues and solutionsDevelop appropriate software documentation as outlined in IDFComplete comprehensive unit testing on all developed/enhanced softwareProvides direction tools, technical and process support to less senior developers

Qualifications

Required 

Bachelor's degree in Technical or Scientific field2+ experience in application design, development, installation and modification of softwareC# .Net with backend API/services experience AWS exposureKnowledge and experience in developing APIs/servicesKnowledge and experience in SQLBasic knowledge of one of main programming languages (C#, .Net)Being able to write code that successfully accepts user input and converts it into outputBasic understanding of Git and GitHubExperience writing and running unit tests alongside code development in their local environmentsUnderstands the value of unit tests from a conceptual levelExposure to the importance and methods behind non-functional testing such as Load TestingMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

The base pay range for this role is $71,345.00 to $97,240.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
