Job Description
Purpose:
The Associate Director will manage and build scalable analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation capabilities that will enable the internal audit department to increase coverage and efficiency by leveraging innovative technologies. It involves working with multiple team across Finance, Compliance and Technology as well as Third Party audits. The scope of the role will leverage today’s most innovative analytics and automation technologies to provide best in class capabilities to the Internal Audit team. This role reports to the Director, Technology Audit and works closely with all audit and IT leadership. Our environment is fast-paced and requires a candidate who is flexible, detail-oriented, thrives on ambiguity and can drive results across cross-functional groups.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and People Responsibilities: Oversee the hiring and training of new and existing staff, conduct performance reviews and provide leadership, technical guidance and coaching to staff. Build organizational talent by creating a learning environment that ensures employees realize their highest potential.Develop strategies to leverage enterprise data and build through the delivery of easy to use dashboards and tools, sophisticated data analysis and advanced data modelling.Implement AI solutions using a combination of internal and external tools such as APIs, Python, and ETL tools.Develop and maintain a demand roadmap aligned with audit leadership priority, IT capacity, technical dependencies and ongoing project portfolio.Manage portfolio of analytics and automation projects to ensure on-time delivery.Design, build and optimize data visualizations tools to provide actionable insights that enhance auditor decision making and increase ability to identify transactions that represent elevated risk.Identify and implement opportunities to leverage technology to automate audit processes and improve operational efficiencies within IA.Finance/Budgetary Responsibilities: In partnership with BTS, Manage the budget - monitor and control resources, expenses and capital costs against the budget.Champion utilization of business intelligence technology across audit and related functions. Collaborate with relevant peer organizations (e.g., FSS, OEC) to leverage common data and platforms where feasible. Lead and develop an enterprise approach to operational analytics, data visualization, analysis and modelling.Regulatory Compliance Responsibilities: Protect our brand and reputation by safeguarding our assets and maintaining compliance with all governing policies. Assure all relevant internal financial, data privacy and security policies are met.Ensure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) documentation aligns with agile methodologies and AbbVie policies to deliver high-quality reporting solutions quickly and continuously.Benchmark and evaluate analytics and automation best practices and solutions with peer life sciences audit functions.Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent with 7-10 years experience or Master's DegreePhD with relevant experience. 5+ years experience in utilizing data tools such as PowerBI, Python, R, SAS, Dataiku, SAP Business Objects, SAP Business Warehouse, Informatica and others.Solid understanding of key analytics trends and emerging technologies such as AWS or AzureExperience with process automation using tools such as PowerAutomate and/or UiPath.Experience implementing AI processes to improve efficiency and get better insights.Experience managing large and complex analytics projects across multiple business functionsExperience reviewing and streamlining business processes, including gathering and documenting business requirements, developing and implementing new processes and procedures. Solid experience on Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologiesAbility to communicate problems in terms that are understandable to end users at all levelsStrong analytical and problem resolution skillsKnowledge of Pharmaceutical industry and financial controlsDemonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams towards task completion

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position.
