What is the opportunity?
The Associate Director, Capital Planning and Reporting will act as the key source of comprehensive analysis of the bank’s capital position, both actual and forecasted, maintaining relevant databases and processes to support this task. Results of work and recommendations are distributed to senior RBC executives, including CFO, Treasurer and members of the Asset and Liability Committee and Group Executive, as well as the Board of Directors and form the basis for decisions on the bank’s capital activities. This role will also be a key source of quantitative analysis related to capital implications of business strategies and transactions, capital activities, stress testing, regulatory and accounting changes, external disclosure and regulatory submissions.
What you will do?
Responsible for providing high-quality quantitative and qualitative analysis of RBC’s regulatory capital position, actual and forecasted, and its compliance with regulatory requirements- providing recommendations to facilitate decision-making by senior managementLeads quantitative and qualitative scenario analysis of capital implications of various projects, business, accounting and regulatory activitiesAssists in the development of annual Capital Plan, forming part of RBC’s annual Operating PlanConducts financial analysis of outstanding capital; providing capital transaction recommendationsIdentifies regulatory capital implications of various projects and structured transactions under consideration by Strategic InitiativesResponsible for monitor compliance against all capital, leverage and TLAC constraints as determined by the Board of Directors, regulators, and senior managementWhat you need to succeed?
Must-have
Pertinent university business degree or equivalent to meet technical requirements of the job5+ years of experience in related fieldsExcellent research and analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitativeAdvanced computer skills in database management, spreadsheet design, and building presentationsModelling capability to assess transaction scenariosVery good written and oral communicationNice-to-have
