BASIC FUNCTION:
Reporting to the Executive Director, Summer Sessions, Winter J-Term and Strategic Initiatives, solicit, secure, and manage revenue-generating partnerships with corporate clients. Lead strategy development for meeting the needs of private industry for workforce development, economic development, and employee upskilling. Develop and occasionally deliver non-credit programs to meet these needs.
Duties and Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In conjunction with Office of Strategic Initiatives (OSI) leadership, continually develop and execute strategy for meeting the needs of private industry for workforce development, economic development, and employee upskilling.
Develop and occasionally deliver non-credit programs designed for corporate audiences.
Lead outreach efforts to solicit, secure, and manage revenue-generating partnerships and contracts between the University and corporate clients.
Work across the University to coordinate engagement with corporate partners and other external stakeholders.
In conjunction with OSI leadership, grow both academic and non-academic partnerships, certificate programs, and for-profit programs.
Take a leadership role in creating innovative educational opportunities for learners of all ages including, but not limited to, innovative non-credit programs, programs for URI alumni and corporate partners.
Support the Executive Director in working with the Provost, URI Deans of degree granting colleges, and department chairs and directors of academic and non-academic units to grow programs for executives and professionals.
Implement revenue generating professional development projects and opportunities.
Work to enhance collaboration to create innovative initiatives with the private sector that support URI.
Oversee training and development, organizational development, coaching and consultation services to the University on a contract basis and to Rhode Island State departments, other higher education institutions and community-based organizations and businesses.
Oversee the ongoing communication to staff and stakeholders of overall trends, needs, and opportunities in the private sector.
Respond to and participate in RI State departments’ initiatives as needed.
Facilitate large scale retreats, strategic planning sessions, and other organizational initiatives.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director, Summer Sessions, Winter J-Term and Strategic Initiatives.
LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:
Personal computers, printers and word processing, database management and spreadsheet software.
Required Qualifications REQUIRED:
1. Bachelor’s degree.
2. Minimum of ten years of combined strategic development and leadership experience.
3. Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of professional development programs for corporate audiences.
4. Demonstrated marketing experience.
5. Demonstrated experience securing large monetary contracts with corporate partners.
6. Demonstrated organizational, presentation, and facilitation skills.
7. Demonstrated ability to maintain and sustain relationships with corporate partners.
8. Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles and practices.
9. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
10. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
11. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
Preferred Qualifications PREFERRED:
1. Master’s degree in education, adult education, or business field.
