Job Description

The Corporate Strategy Group partners with R&D and Commercial leaders to advance our strategic agenda and support mission-critical initiatives that will make a real difference for AbbVie’s patients.  

As an Associate Director, you will work closely with management to advance our strategic agenda and support mission-critical initiatives that will make a real difference for AbbVie’s patients. You will report to the Vice President of the Corporate Strategy Group (CSG) as part of the Corporate Strategy Office (CSO.)

Responsibilities:

Support strategic initiatives that will address mission-critical questions and position AbbVie for future successMonitor, understand and prioritize external trends of relevance to the enterprise, and help determine how AbbVie should prepare and/or respondProvide project management support for key strategic planning processesHelp communicate our strategy across AbbVieLead individual modules within complex, cross-functional initiatives, including driving the problem-solving process and supporting research and analytics, and distilling pragmatic recommendations for management consideration
 

Significant Work Activities -Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Medicine, Sciences, etc.) preferredMinimum of 2 years of experience at a top-tier strategic consulting firm, preferably with healthcare and pharma industry experienceStrong project management skillsAbility to lead individual modules within complex, cross-functional initiatives, including driving the problem-solving process and supporting research and analytics, and distilling pragmatic recommendations for management considerationHighly collaborative, genuinely enjoys working hand-in-hand with the businesses to develop solutions that advance AbbVie’s overall missionStrong communication skills, can comfortably lead meetings with mid/senior-level managementSound business judgmentDrive, energy, and passion to advance AbbVie’s mission
