The Associate Director of Accounting is an integral member of the Wolters Kluwer Financial Shared Services (FSS) leadership team responsible for managing transactional F&A activities based in Romania. You will have ownership of delivering harmonized high-quality services in an optimized control environment. This position will ensure overall compliance with Wolters Kluwer policies and procedures, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), local statutory financial reporting, accounting and tax requirements. The ideal candidate must possess exceptional analytical acumen, excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate and influence in a matrixed organization.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the timely and accurate recording and reporting of financial statement information on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis including confirming financial accounts are reconciled and outstanding issues resolved on a timely basis
Ensure billing and cash collection processes are functioning properly, and liaise with business representatives for solving issues
Partner with stakeholders to address requests for accounting policy interpretation and/or provide guidance from an accounting perspective with a specific focus on ensuring the accuracy of all related accounting transactions and the appropriate reporting
Establish and maintain a rigorous financial control environment ensuring compliance with internal financial policies
Identify, document and implement process improvements to ensure sustainable controls are embedded in each financial process to reduce risk and improve standardization
Ensure complete and updated process documentation is centrally maintained and that adequate cross-training exists to provide seamless back-up support during individual absences
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support internal and external audits
Ensure statutory compliance for applicable legal entities and business units. This includes maintaining relationships with regional authorities to ensure understanding of Romania statutory requirements
Manage, coach and develop a team of professionals

Requirements:
Education: Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
10 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management
Highly desirable:
Experience in FP&A, treasury, audit or operations
Outsourcing experience from both customer and/or service provider perspective(s)
Knowledge of SAP and Blackline (Preferred)
