Associate Director, Generative AI Solutions Architecture

Position Overview

We are in search of a seasoned solution architect to spearhead the advancement of our Generative AI / LLM Practice. This role involves identifying and implementing the techniques that are needed to tailor AI models to business requirements. You will be working in tandem with our business solutions team to keep up with novel and evolving Generative AI solutioning methods. Furthermore, you will join forces with our delivery team to transition these methods into an operational environment. Your contributions will be instrumental in empowering businesses globally to customize Generative AI models.

Key Responsibilities

In this capacity, you will be expected to:

• Investigate and push the limits of foundational model fine-tuning techniques for end-user applications.

• Transition your findings into a production environment for customer use.

• Engage with business leaders to comprehend their requirements.

• Work in close collaboration with a diverse group of stakeholders, encompassing product, go-to-market, and development teams.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate should:

• Hold a Master’s or PhD degree in CS/STEM or an equivalent field.

• Demonstrate a proven history of engineering ownership across various domains.

• Possess experience in applied machine learning, or in building with ML/AI products and systems.

• Have experience or interest in comprehending the science behind the deployed models and their effects/implications.

• Have experience in technical leadership, leading project teams, and setting technical direction.

• Be comfortable working cross-functionally across both research and product teams.

• Possess the expertise to function independently.

• Have proficiency in Python and/or other programming languages in a production environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile

This role might be a perfect fit for you if you:

• Possess prior experience in fine-tuning LLMs.

• Have worked with large-scale distributed systems for both model training and inference.

• Have a track record of building machine learning systems at an internet scale in a production environment.

• Are comfortable owning problems from end-to-end and are open to acquiring any missing knowledge to accomplish the task at hand.

• Can thrive in a fast-paced setting where definitions are evolving and priorities or deadlines might conflict.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $110,760 - $175,860 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
