ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, INCENTIVE COMPENSATION

 

SUMMARY: 

The Associate Director, Incentive Compensation will be responsible for overseeing the design, management, and execution of incentive compensation plans for field teams across multiple brands. Initially, this role will involve working independently to manage all aspects of incentive compensation, including Key Sales Objectives (KSO) plans, performance tracking, and payroll submissions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sales compensation, a strong analytical background, and the ability to manage incentive compensation programs while laying the groundwork for team development in the future.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops and maintains IC plan business rules Develops IC plan summary and communication materials Trains field forces on IC plan elements Develops quarterly national/regional performance goals Runs reports and calculates payouts Develops and administers sales contests Collaborates with the governance team(s) to plan and payout approval Maintains data governance standards, policies, and procedures Monitors data quality scorecards Closely engages and manages external consulting vendors related to IC Trains internal teams on processes and procedures related to incentive compensation and the systems used for that compensation Collaborates with cross functional teams regarding implementation of fixes and enhancements Partners with Sales and Marketing teams to manage and administer content update requests Close collaboration with Commercial analytics for all incentive compensation related data alignment between Incentive Compensation KSOs for accurate data capture. Works in partnership with Commercial analytics to create reports and Field IC dashboards, keeping stakeholders informed with up-to-date performance data and insights into compensation impacts. Coordinate supervisor evaluations each semester, providing detailed performance reviews and tracking against compensation goals. Monitors IC-related data quality - accuracy, timeliness and completeness in partnership with Commercial Analytics Coordinates sourcing of commercial data - enforces "single version of truth" in partnership with commercial analytics Partners with Forecasting & Analytics team to deliver performance content to commercial leadership team and update quarterly performance IC metrics Responds to ad hoc data inquiries from internal stakeholders Manages sales performance application Coordinates delivery of IC related reports to field teams Responds to field inquiries and investigations Trains field forces on reports and business acumen regarding analytics Ensures data accuracy and completeness Maintains data governance standards, policies, and procedures

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or a related field. 12+ years of experience in incentive compensation or sales compensation management, ideally in a biopharma, healthcare, or related industry. Strong expertise in incentive compensation design and management, with the ability to develop plans that motivate field teams and drive business outcomes. Highly analytical, with experience in data modeling, performance analysis, and compensation reporting (proficiency in Excel is required). Ability to manage complex processes independently, ensuring high levels of accuracy and timely execution. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex compensation plans and performance data to cross-functional teams and leadership. Proven problem-solving skills and a proactive, process improvement-oriented mindset. Knowledge of compensation systems Demonstrated ability to eventually lead and grow a team, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative work environment. Experience with data vendors, external customers, and field teams Significant experience with incentive compensation models including Attainment and Key Sales Objective (KSO) based plans Familiarity of business rules used in master data management (MDM) processes and systems. Significant experience with tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel) to analyze data quality and content Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project) Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills including ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

The pay scale for this position is $135,131 to $190,000
