The Importance of the Role

Sarepta Therapeutics is seeking an experienced litigator to join its dynamic and collegial Legal team. In this newly created role, the Litigation & Securities Attorney will lead or assist on proactively managing and mitigating risk across the organization, and provide support in all subject matter areas, including IP, commercial disputes, securities regulation and health law. The role will primarily report to the company’s Vice President, Litigation. This exciting and unique position will also report into the Senior Director, Securities & Corporate Governance, and will have direct involvement in securities matters.

The Opportunity to Make a Difference

Managing a broad range of disputes and litigation matters including commercial, IP, and securities;Direct involvement in Sarepta’s response to disputes, litigation, and third-party subpoenas, including developing/implementing case/matter strategy and negotiating settlements;Identifying litigation and business risks and supporting the development of strategies to mitigate these risks;Performing fact investigation, conducting legal research, issuing/managing litigation holds and discovery management (production, support of depositions, drafting of discovery responses);Hands-on involvement in motion and brief drafting and trial preparation (including witness selection and preparation), and participation at trial and on appeal;Assisting with the preparation and filing of SEC documents, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statement and Section 16 filings;Assisting with general corporate governance matters, including preparing board and committee presentations, resolutions and minutes;Helping to plan Sarepta’s Annual Meeting of Stockholders;Efficiently managing outside counsel when necessary, including tactical guidance, staffing, case management, budgeting, and alignment with Sarepta’s broader legal strategy;Responding to subpoenas and other legal and regulatory inquiries; andReviewing, analyzing and keeping current on litigation and securities law developments affecting the biotech industry.

More about You

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA accredited law school.Must be licensed or registered to practice law in the United States; 5+ years of experience in litigation. Strong preference for candidates with experience in life sciences, government enforcement, securities and/or IP litigation;Exceptional written, verbal and presentation communication skills;Demonstrated interpersonal interaction skills;Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail;Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage and drive projects cross-functionally across departments;Strong prioritization skills, the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities, and the ability to quickly adjust to shifting priorities and demanding deadlines when necessary; andSelf-motivated with strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and efficiently.

This position is hybrid, you will be expected to work on site at one of Sarepta’s facilities in the United States and/or attend Company-sponsored in-person events from time to time.

The targeted salary range for this position is $168,000 - $210,000 per year. Sarepta is making a good faith effort to be transparent and accurate around our hiring ranges. The salary offer is commensurate with Sarepta’s compensation philosophy and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
